AKŞEHİR ALTINKALEM MASJİD

Located in the neighborhood named after itself, the building was built by Eminüddin Yusuf bin Hacı İsfendiyar in 1223 as a foundation work during the reign of the Seljuk Sultan Alaeddin Keykubat. The square-planned building was constructed of brick. In the masjid section covered with a dome, squinch was used as a transition element. The dome was covered with lead in the following phase. There is a simple porch at the entrance and tile ornamentation details are found around the window arches on the main façade.
