BEYŞEHİR BAYINDIR (ŞEYH MUHİDDİN) MOSQUE

The structure, which is one of the mosques with wooden poles very common in Konya, especially in the Beyşehir region, has a square plan. Internally, the building is divided into five pitches perpendicular to the mihrab wall by fifteen wooden poles. The entrance to the harim section was designed as a gathering room, like the other mosques in the region. The structure is covered with a four-sided hipped roof on the exterior, has a flat ceiling covered with wood veneer on the interior. The mosque took its present form with the repairs in 1954. It is possible to see examples of ornamentation in the building, most of which belong to the 1954 repairs. The inner surfaces of the ceiling and the mihrab and minbar are the most remarkable parts in terms of ornamentation.
