TACÜ’L VEZİR TOMB

The building, which belongs to the Seljuk sultan Gıyaseddin Keyhüsrev I period, was built in 1239-1240 as a foundation work. The octagonal structure built of brick material is covered with a dome from the inside and a polygonal cone from the outside. Squinch was used as a dome transition element in the building. It is understood from the existing traces that the tomb, whose entrance is emphasized, has a stone cladding on the front façade. The madrasah of the structure, which was designed and constructed together with the tomb, has not survived to the present day.
