İÇ KARAASLAN MASJİD
İç Karaaslan Masjid is located in Shams Tabrizi Neighborhood of Karatay District. The building was built by Ziyaeddin Necmeddin Karaaslan in 1233 as a foundation work during the Seljuk period. Built of brick, the building has a square plan and a polygonal pulley. One of the most remarkable parts of the masjid, where a tromp is used as a dome transition element, is the mihrab. The mihrab made of plaster and tile and dominated by turquoise color reflects the characteristic features of Seljuk ornamentation art. Tile ornamentation is also found on the exterior of the building.
