KARAPINAR SULTAN SELİM COMPLEX
Mosque
The mosque, which is the main structure of the complex, is located in the south of the complex. Built of cut stone material, the mosque is a single domed building with a square plan. The dome, which uses a pendentive as a dome transition element, is covered with lead. The mosque, which has a five-celled last congregation place, has two minarets with single balconies.
Bath
The bath is located in the east of the complex. The warmth section of the bath built of cut stone material has a square plan. The building belongs to the group of baths with a square planned warmth.
Covered Bazaar
The covered bazaar of the complex, consisting of thirty-nine shops, was located between the inn and the alms house. The inn was designed in two rows and covered with a vault. In the 19th century, the lead on the shops was replaced. As of the 20th century, the bazaar part of the complex, which started to be disused, disappeared in the process.
Inn
The inn was built as a double inn on the Konya-Ereğli road, north of the mosque of the complex. In the 19th century, the number of inns was reduced to one with the renovation it underwent.
Almshouse
The original state of the almshouse, one of the first buildings of the complex, is not clearly known. As a result of the researches, it is thought that the almshouse was a structure consisting of many units with domes on top.
