KARAMANA ERMENEK RÜSTEM PASHA (MEYDAN) MOSQUE

Rüstem Pasha (Meydan) Mosque, as a foundation work, was built during the Karamanids period, at the end of the 14th century and the beginning of the 15th century. Due to the fact that it was built on a sloping land, an elevation difference was formed in the structure. The building, also called the Separate Minareted Mosque because its minaret is located across the road, was built of stone. The building, which has a rectangular plan close to the square, has a three-celled last congregation place. Through the last congregation place, the sides of which are closed, the harim of the building is accessed. The harim is divided into six identical units with two rectangular piers. The other units of the harim section, which has a dome in front of the mihrab, are covered with cross vaults. The part with the dome in front of the mihrab is covered with a polygonal cone from the outside and the rest of the parts are covered with a hipped roof. The minaret, located across the road on the north facade of the building, was built of cut stone material with a polygonal body and a single balcony.
