THE GAFERİYAT BATH

The Gaferiyat Bath, built of stone material, was designed as a double bath.  The men's and women's sections of the bath were built with the same plan features of equal size. In general terms, the building consists of a rectangular dressing room, a transverse rectangular coldness room and a transverse rectangular cold room and a warmth section. The building is in the plan type of star-like baths with six iwan. The origin of this plan type, which is applied in both the women's and men's sections, is the ancient Roman baths and spas, and Karaman Yeni Hamam was built with a similar plan. The men's section of the bath is larger than the women's section. The men's part of the bath, which consists of temperature, dressing, coldness, interval and latrine sections, is in the plan type with iwan and corner halvet cells; The women's section, which consists of dressing, interval, coldness and warmth sections, is in the plan type with rectangular planned warmth and halvet cells.
