BEYŞEHİR EŞREFOĞLU COMPLEX
Mosque
The mosque was built by Eşrefoğlu Süleyman Bey in 1297 as a foundation work. The harim section, which is divided by a large number of wooden poles and consists of seven pitches perpendicular to the mihrab wall, presents a vertical rectangular plan. In this respect, Eşrefoğlu Mosque is the most monumental and developed of the mosques with wooden poles that are frequently seen in Konya and its surroundings. Especially the pencil ornaments on the pads of the wooden poles, the wooden pulpit in kundekari technique and the tile mihrab reflecting the Seljuk characteristic make the building unique in terms of ornamentation.
Tomb
The tomb belonging to Eşrefoğlu Süleyman Bey is adjacent to the eastern wall of the mosque. The octagonal tomb is covered with a dome on the inside and a conical cone on the outside. The tomb, which is completely decorated with tiles, was built by Süleyman Bey in 1301-1302, a few years before his death.
Bedesten
It was built by Eşrefoğlu Süleyman Bey in 1299 as a foundation work together with the great mosque. The bedesten, which was built with rubble stone material with a rectangular plan and six domes, underwent a repair in the 16th century, during the era of Suleiman the Magnificent.
Bath
The structure was built by Eşrefoğlu Süleyman Bey between 1297-1299 as a foundation work. The bath, which has a plan similar to the Konya Sahip Ata Bath and was built with rubble stone material, belongs to the plan group of baths with four iwans and corner seclusion cells. In the corner seclusion cells within the warmth section of the bath, there are rich ornaments made by molding technique.
