KARATAY MASJİD
It was built in 1248 as a foundation work by Kemaleddin Rumtaş, the brother of the famous Seljuk Vizier Celaleddin Karatay. Located to the west of Hoca Ahmet Fakih Complex, the masjid was built of cut stone and brick and has a rectangular plan. It passes from the transverse rectangular unit used as the last congregation place to the main masjid section. The square-planned masjid section is covered with a dome. There are traces of glazed bricks on the outer body walls of the building where Turkish triangles are used as dome transition elements.
