THE TOMB OF THE KIZLAR

The Tomb of the Kızlar, which is in the large cemetery in the city center of Karaman, was built as a foundation work in the 15th century during the Karamanids period. The tomb, which was built of cut stone material with an octagonal plan, is covered with a slightly flattened tomb sitting on an octagonal pulley. From the existing traces, it is thought that there was a portico area at the entrance of the building. The arch stirrups of the entrance portico, which do not exist today, have stalectite, and it is possible to see decorations made in rosette style under the rows of stalectite, and it is also possible to see rumi and palmette motifs on the keystone on the door arch.
