KARAMAN ERMENEK TOL MADRASA

As a foundation work, it was built in 1339 by Baha-üdüdünya ved-din Musa, son of Mahmud, during the Karamanids period. The structure was built of cut stone material, with an open courtyard, single storey and three iwans. The open courtyard of the structure is surrounded by porticoes on three sides. The square spaces on both sides of the main iwan are covered with domes, while the other units of the madrasah are covered with vaults. Rich stone ornamentation is found on the crown door, which is kept quite high according to the dimensions of the structure. The room to the south of the main iwan is the tomb. There are turquoise and aubergine purple tiles on the plaster cist base in this section.
