SHAMS TABRİZİ MOSQUE
Shams Tabrizi Mosque, a foundation work, is located in the east of Konya Alaeddin Hill, very close to Mevlana Dervish Lodge, in the park named after him. The first construction dates back to the Seljuk period, the 12th century, and took its present form in the 15th century. The mosque, which also contains a shrine believed to belong to Shams Tabrizi, is one of the mystical and sacred cultural assets of Konya. The mosque part of the structure is built of rubble stone material and the tomb part has a polygonal body and conical cone. Especially the tomb part of the building bears the characteristic features of Seljuk period tomb architecture.
