AKŞEHİR FERRUH ŞAH MASJİD

Ferruh Şah Masjid, located about 50 meters southeast of Seyyid Mahmud Hayrani Tomb, was built by Ferruh Şah of Konya in 1224 as a foundation work during the reign of Seljuk Sultan Alaeddin Keykubat. The building is also known by names such as Seyyid Mahmud Hayrani Masjid and Cıncıklı Masjid. Ferruh Şah Masjid, which resembles the other Seljuk masjids in Akşehir in terms of plan and architectural features, was built with a square plan of rubble stone and some of the spolia, rustication and cut stone materials. The square-planned masjid is covered with a dome using squinch as  transition element. The facades of the building, which has a simple porch at the entrance, draw attention with the tile ornamentation details around the window arches.
